Originally
founded as
Team Phoenix OCR
20 May 2016
We created the team as a group of friends who had
competed together before. We all share a passion
to compete across the world against the best in OCR
whether that is junior, age group, gender, competitive
or God Level.
We feel privileged to share the same course as the
sports’ current best, I think we all know who they are
and we aspire to get a second closer to them each
time we share the same ground.
Our team are from a varied background that all bring
a unique set of skills to the collective. We have a
Zumba teacher, Physio’s, PT’s, Engineers, a Dance
Teacher, a Basketball Coach to name a few, but
regardless of our professions we are all team mates.
A new exciting chapter has just started for the team
where we are thrilled, excited & chuffed to have just
been asked to be part of the Nuclear Family and be
the Official Nuclear Competitive OCR Race Team.
Nuclear Races are our home race and in our opinion
the events are one of the best and biggest in the OCR
calendar with well-made obstacles, great terrain and
always brilliantly organised – it is OCR heaven!
This exciting news means some changes – we will be
known as ‘Nuclear Phoenix’ and we have a great new
logo and kit coming soon!.
NP OCR Team Brand
The yellow Nuclear part is from the Nuclear Logo,
the ‘Phoenix’ was chosen as it denotes ‘rising and
rebirth’ and refers to how the team was built from
the bottom up. We wanted to create a brand that was
unique and instantly recognised.
Values we try to uphold are “Integrity” and “Team
Camaraderie”. Integrity is something we strongly
believe in and we continue to promote this when we
race, train and engage with the OCR Community.
Team Camaraderie is in everything we do. We started
off as team mates but have become a Nuclear
Phoenix family.
What makes NP unique?
Our goal is to retain a good mix of gender and age
group and we are pleased to be a Team run by the
Team! When racing we always want to place as highly
as possible but we solidly believe in having fun.
Our ethos is: train hard race easy. NP are often
training together, whether it is running, obstacle
technique training or strength and conditioning. We
like to push each other in every aspect to make us
the best OCR athletes we can be. We train at least
once a month together as a whole group and these
sessions are usually hosted at the PT Barn with our
newly assigned Head Coach, Scotty PT, pushing
us. We run competitions where OCR enthusiasts
can come and join us for free in our team training
sessions and see how we train. Readers should go to
our Facebook page (Nuclear Phoenix OCR) to enter.
We don’t bite…hard, but we do train hard so come
prepared for some fun and lots of sweating.
NP OCR on Social Media
NP is actively involved across all streams of
electronic/social media to enhance our team brand.
Since the inauguration of Team Phoenix we have
actively promoted the team, achievements and
brand. We like to set high standards in promotion of
the team and OCR in general.
The journey thus far….
We are really proud of what we have achieved
within our first year in OCR. The success has
come from athletes’ successes at the UK & World
championships and UK League races. We are looking
forward to growing mentally and physically for the
2017 season. Our goal is to be one of the most
successful OCR Teams in the UK and have fun on
the journey with everyone we meet on our travels in
this crazy, exciting, fun, scary sport!!
Now by partnering with Nuclear Races and the
Nuclear Family is only going to help us achieve our
aims and more.
