Inov-8 X-Talon 200 Trainer
Weight:
I was delighted with how light these feel in
your hand and on your foot. I’m not elite but with
these I felt that I ran faster and was lighter on my feet
over the course.
Comfort:
For a lightweight shoe these certainly don’t
lack comfort. Support and cushioning were there in
all the right places for me and still flexible enough to
allow for every landing stride regardless of the terrain.
I have quite wide feet so I like the fact that there is
plenty of room for my toes. The unisex feature is
a welcome one. The breathable mesh at
the front meant no water retention
so they drained easily.
Grip:
It didn’t
take long for
me to adjust
as I’ve never
worn these
before and
they didn’t let
Weight:
After completing the 12k+ course at Nuclear
I found they did retain the mud a little and became
slightly heavy but once you go through the water
course they clear out, so all good in the end.
Comfort: I tend to stick to what I’m used to so was a
little dubious about swapping my regular 212 talons
for the 200’s for this race. I was very pleased to find
them just as comfortable as my old favorites. No
blisters, no rubs, no problems! Fantastic for a brand
new pair of trainers.
Grip:
As with my 212’s the grip for fell and obstacle
racing is fantastic and second to none. No
complaints there.
Design:
I really like the design and colour range
offered with the 200’s.
Durability:
I’ve been really impressed with the wear
and tear factor with the 200’s. Even after over 40k of
racing these are fine and dandy.
me down once. The 8mm claws were perfect for
thick mud as well as drier terrain.
Design:
Inov-8 have really raised the bar. Striking
colours make the X-Talons easily identifiable even
when covered in mud. Really tasteful, unisex, non
offensive colour options and the elastic attachment
on the tongue is a great feature making it really easy
to get your foot in and out.
Durability:
I’m pleased to say these have stood the
test of time. I run a lot on all sorts of terrain and race
most weekends. They are still as beautiful as the day
I christened them in the mud.
True to size:
I’m normally a 7. I chose to go up half a
size and these were just right.
Final Thoughts:
I don’t think you can go far wrong
with a pair of these. They are hardwearing,
comfortable, affordable and good looking! What more
could a girl want?
True to size:
I’m a size 10, ordered a 10 and fits
perfect (I do have very wide feet)
Final Thoughts:
All in all I love these trainers. From
the look and design to the flexibility and durability.
Grip is a major thing for me and these do not leave
you wanting or slipping! Also the cleaning after
race of these trainers is great! No shrinkage
even for the lazy racer who cleans them two
days after! And yes I am that lazy racer.
Impressive how well they scrub up.
