Visiting the PT Barn for the first time I had an immediate
surge of adrenaline. Upon entering the barn I saw
nothing out of the ordinary, a relaxed and informal
reception area, a pool table, a small kitchen area. It’s
simple. The air is cold, I felt cold.
After signing in I entered what I can only describe as
my idea of training heaven. First impressions were
mind blowing and if I’m honest, I was overwhelmed at
the initial sight of the monkey bars. All 56 feet of them,
that’s just under 18 meters! I felt slightly intimidated,
but at the same time could not wait to play.
The first time I completed the bars I felt amazing. I
thought, now what? Scotty laughed and came out
with some attachments. Ropes, rings, bars, cargo
nets were added bit by bit. All of a sudden the pre
conquered monkey bars became a totally unique
rig which was more challenging than anything I had
come across in the OCR World.
Competition is emotional thinking.
Perceiving everyone and everything as fight, contest,
challenge can be a tiresome, stressful, exhausting affair.
Constantly living our lives from a place of competition,
leads to clash, collision & tussle. Rivalry’s develop,
‘one-up-man-ship’, attitudes manifest and division
occurs, all because of competitive thinking.
Whilst ‘some’ competition in the right environment
can be positively beneficial for us and can help in
small doses, too much on the other hand can also be
harmful and a constant drain on our happiness.
Competition causes conflict, comparison & striving,
that ends with narrative, single-minded thinking.
When we compete, we identify with our ego mind.
The part of us that believes that we’re separate from
everything else, only we’re not.
And here’s the thing, we have the ability to change
our state of mind whenever we choose to & we really
don’t have to be always ‘competing’.
I failed, I succeeded... more attachments were added...
I failed, I succeeded... more attachments were added
and on it went until I was beaten, torn and bleeding.
I’m sweating, I’m hot, I’m so so hot! I left feeling
thirsty for water and hungry for more.
In recent months the PT Barn have added a salmon
ladder, which I failed miserably at Toughest [and still
do] plus a three tier peg board. Both of which I will
master in time. Scotty has helped with my approach,
my technique and even how and when to breathe
correctly.
If you don’t come away feeling you’ve worked out, it
probably means you haven’t!
Don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself.
Co-operation is logical thinking.
With co-operation there’s collaboration, alliance &
unity. There’s really no need to compete when we’re
co-operating.
Because co-operation is assistance, it’s helpfulness,
it’s ‘give & take’, it’s wanting what’s best for all &
everyone. It’s less demanding, less taxing, less
stressful.
We can STILL achieve what we desire but we’re going
about it in harmony, in peace, we’re working WITH
others not against them.
Co-operation is combined, open minded thinking &
has the power to dissolve any ‘competitive’ mindset.
Focus on cooperation, it will serve you far better.

Substitute competition with co-operation
Not with our SELVES. Not with any ONE. Not with any THING
Instead we can substitute competition with co-operation
Now doesn’t
that sound like
a happier, more
peaceful way
to approach
our journey
through life?
I hated it.
I loved it.
I never wanted
to go back.
When can
I go back?
